Yes. Lestat wasn't even the only one to attack him that week, let alone anything that came before or after.
He isn't human, but because of what he is he's had to feel his power change and dwindle for thousands of years based on the fickle nature of human belief. Other events exacerbate that feeling, including a lot of things that happen here on the Barge.
