Crozier sits and lets him work on his nose. When his nasal passages are a little more clear he speaks again--]

[He smirks a little, then reaches up to tenderly touch the bridge of his nose.]

The unfortunate fate of those who rely too heavily on their looks instead of their character, I'm afraid. Nothing I can do about that.

[ A sigh. ]

Do you feel comfortable being prescribed painkillers?

[He hums his answer.]

I've handle laudanum and coca in the past without too much worry about dependency. [It's just the whiskey. Always the whiskey. Not even other spirits were a temptation.]

There are other drugs I can give which have less of a concern in that area. I would prefer to use those, if you have no issues with the taking of pills.

[Look. He doesn't know about what goes on with painkillers that aren't hard drugs.]

[He inclines his head gently, more aware of the throbbing in the middle of his face now.]

[ Reid returns with a small bottle of pills, shaking them the once so that Crozier can hear how many (roughly) are in there before he holds it out for him. ]

One when you wake up, one every six hours, and if it isn't too close, one before you go to bed.

[The instructions are easy enough to follow. He looks at the side of the bottle, shaking them for himself, before he pockets them with a nod.]

[Clear as rain. He nods softly and gets to his feet slowly.]

[With his normal physician indisposed, of sorts, it's good to have another person to rely on when things go awry.]

[ He's also a warden, if need be. ]

Oh, no, no. Just a slight alternation, and mostly deserved.

[He manages a smile. That's what happens when you push your inmate.]

[He smiles in return; Reid doesn't have any reason to worry about Crozier keeping the pain to himself.]

[He takes his medication and slips back out of the infirmary, wanting to change out the bloody tunic for something more presentable.]
