I was not told about your particular case, no. Thank you for stepping forward; I realize it isn't simple or easy.

But it most certainly does matter, for any number of reasons. He 'deserves' no 'pass' and I don't intend to give him one. Mitigating circumstances do not, in and of themselves, serve as an abdication of responsibility. They are what they are, but he is still the captain of his own soul.

I would offer you what I offer them: the opportunity to talk with him in a supervised setting that he be forced to reckon and face those which he treated as mere sustenance.

And yet, you are hurt all the same. It matters not if the harm was intended, only that the harm was done. And while I will hardly maim him for actions taken under duress or under the influence, to deny that hurt is no gift to him *or* you.

I have been at the mercy of those for whom my suffering was hardly a concern, perhaps not even to be understood so alien was he to my existence. If you do not wish to speak to him, to make yourself and your harm real to him, then I would certainly never force you. It is not your job to help him, to make him realize these things.

But it gave me some sense of having done *something*, of having at least spoken my piece, of making him *hear* me.

I thought I ought to let you know that I was able to distill some of the ingredients for my blood serum, which increases the potency and thus decreases the actual volume required, such that I could make a few vials for emergencies. I am still very much interested in further safeguards, but know that at least *some* have been worked out already.

I am unsure. At the same time that I was subsisting on rats, so too was I occasionally biting other immortals in the midst of combat. Any who attacked me, I would take from their strength in turn. At the moment, I drink what the Admiral provides.
