Mr. Givens: first of all, he was not the one to initiate contact: Mr. Bright was. Secondly, given the current atmosphere, no one involved in this event had the ability to make their decisions with anything like 'reasonable judgment' and I will not pretend as such. Third, Mr. Bright is not dead and he is not dead because Lestat shows restraint, even despite the lack of concern for consequences which he is incapable of feeling right now due to the flood and the location of the incident.

When his judgement is at fault and not knowingly hampered by the Admiral's choice of temporary guests, I may do more than that, but at the moment, containment of all parties seems the most reasonable choice.

Mm. I'm not gonna give credit for a bleeding out over a murder, and unless Malcolm punched him or something, that kind of reaction is already out of line. I am not here to tell you how to Warden, Reid, but Lestat's antics keep going on without any real consequences for it, you may find your job split between Wardenin' and keepin' Lestat on this side of the proverbial ground.

[ He considers addressing the first part but nothing he comes up with even sounds like something he wants to say. It's no fear of consequences, only a desire to be true to his own self and his intentions. Discretion is the better part of valor in this case. ]

Lark expressed the desire, rather seriously, to rip Lestat's throat out. In the interest of no one being demoted and reducing further bloodshed, I called upon those who know him better and did not attempt to personally intervene.

Probably a good idea. Though I'm curious what's got his back hairs up - Lestat lay hands on one of his or somethin'?

I believe he considers Mr. Bright as one of his. He was the one to bring him in, and he was the one to inform me of some of his needs for overnight observation.

Well I can't say I agree with throat tearin', that's a little blood thirsty for my tastes but if there's one thing Warden's are around here, it's creative. I'd be happy with a manicure for Lestat that files those damned nails down.

Nor I, of course. I've a few thoughts for how to handle Lestat's difficulties, but I'm hoping to take some time with those who have concerns to address them all.

Some of the creative solutions that have apparently been employed have been more harmful than helpful and I believe greater success will be achieved with a united effort.

[What Reid decides, not whatever communal discussion comes out with. In the end, it was the Warden's choice and Raylan respected the Warden's right to handle shit the way he felt. Though if Reid ended up doing nothing, Raylan would keep that in mind going forwards.]

I have the obligation one has to one's coworkers to not make their work environment more difficult or uncomfortable.

In truth, I would like if you could attend the discussion I intend to have once rational thinking has returned.

There is a standing frustration around his actions that I should like to lay to rest. The lingering shadow of his actions before I even arrived plays its part in this current event in ways I would prefer not to repeat.

I can free up my schedule for that. [He'll even come somewhat sober. He'll try, anyway.]

Always surprised when I hear people talk about the whole. Co-worker situation. [That might be because he didn't feel much a part of that part of the whole Thing.]

We are a community, those of us on this boat, and each of us anchors different points and different smaller groupings within it. When an anchor is cut, even temporarily, the ripples of that reach farther than we often realize.

And I suppose I am used to working with other doctors. True, we all have our patients and our specialties. But collaboration and constructive commentary and learning from one another are what keep our minds sharp and our eyes open to what blind spots may hold obstacles we would sooner trip on.

Lestat is still my 'patient', as it were, but he was here before I was. I may disagree with a previous diagnosis, but it would be arrogance and disservice to him to never look at the notes left previously.

Suppose we'll see what that looks like with our current handful, whoever else comes.

As a group, we're far less refined and reasonable as a clutch of doctors. Interesting tack to try though. Sure as shit better than havin' it in the proverbial town square.

Having seen even the most professional individuals squabble like fishwives, I assure you doctors can be unreasonable as any.

At any rate, I hope it won't get there but won't be surprised if it does. I'll be there, either way.
